Did Jews write the Koran?

Muslims believe the Koran was an “uncreated” book, by which they mean it existed before the dawn of time itself. According to their belief, Mohammed was not the author of the Koran. He just listened to it being recited by the Angel Gabriel. And since the “prophet” himself was illiterate. the text was then written down by others based on Mohammed’s recollections of what he had heard.

Wouldn’t it be interesting, then, if the text of the Koran contained secret messages, written by Jews, including coded insults of Mohammed calling him a violent idiot? This is the story told in various Jewish medieval texts, carefully kept secret from the Goyim.

This is the book [that comprises] the story of Muhammad who was
in Sarsa al-Ghanam, a place [also] named al-Jabal al-Hadīth, and
the events of his life until he moved to Sarsa and to the Hijāz, on
account of the monk who was in Balqīn, on a post called “the sign
of the Sun.” [Now] about the sages who came and told him about
the events that had occurred to him and connived the composition
of a book. They wrote down their names, each one of them within
a sūra of his Quran. They interpolated [a verse] and wrote: “Thus
did the sages of Israel counsel the wicked ALLaM [violent one],” in
a hidden and jumbled way, so that it would not be understood. Let
G-d curse the man, to whom this book comes his way, who understands
it and informs one of the gentiles.

…These are the ten [sages] who came to him
and were converted to Islam by him, in order to prevent him from
harming Israel even in the slightest. They produced a Quran for him
and interpolated the writing of their names, each of them [in one
sūra].

To recapitulate, the story told is that Jews came to Mohammed and pretended to convert to Islam so they could subvert his movement from within and prevent it doing any harm to Jews. They wrote the Koran for Mohammed, who was illiterate, and inserted secret messages into it. These messages included their own names and insults of Mohammed, all coded in such a way as to be undecipherable to the uninitiated.

There is a also a severe warning, and promise of a curse, to anyone who reveals these truths to the Goyim.

This warning seems largely to have been heeded. Although the same basic story is told in several documents in the Cairo Genizah [repository of Jewish texts], the most detailed version is a Judeo-Arabic text in the Cambridge University Library. It was translated to Hebrew by Moshe Gil. This English version is only a partial extract of it. To my knowledge, no full English translation is available.

For the most part, then, the admonition has been heeded and the text has been kept far from the injurious eyes of the Goyim. And you can see why the Jews might want to do that. If it became widely known that Jews had written the Koran and inserted secret insults to Mohammed in it, what would be the consequences in the present day?

Jews would be blamed by everyone for inflicting the horrors of Islam on the world.

Muslims would be furious at Jews and could conceivably riot and attack them.

If the story was widely believed or proved, it might even lead to the partial or complete unravelling of Islam as a belief system, since its doctrinal foundation, the uncreated nature of the Koran as an authentically divine revelation, would have been destroyed.

It would be absolutely terrible if word of this got out. Maybe I shouldn’t even have written this article.
