“How do you create a Muslim?”: Woman may face prison in Sweden for humorous Facebook meme

Swe

A 32-year-old woman in Gothenburg, Sweden, has been charged with “Incitement to Hatred against a Group of People” for a graphic she posted in a private Facebook group last year.

The graphic, shown above, asks: “How do you create a Muslim?”

Step 1: Take out the brain

Step 2: Replace it with shit

Step 3: Put on bandages

Step 4: Let go

The police hauled her in for questioning, took her DNA, and asked her bizarre questions like “How do you feel about a multicultural society?” and “Have you anything against Muslims?”

She replied that she had nothing against Muslims, only the extremists; her best friend was a Muslim; she had been moved to make the post after reading about atrocities committed by ISIS; and she was ill at the time.

Despite begging the inquisitors for mercy, she was charged with “Incitement to Hatred”, which in Sweden can carry a sentence of up to 2 years in prison.

  1. Do people not yet realise that Facebook, as most media outlets is owned by parties which are antithetical to freedom? And whatever happened to a certain intelligent and mature level of discretion? I’ve managed to write comments about ideologies and quoted pertinent passages without ever having to resort to tasteless jokes or insulting epithets. Of course, it is outrageous that people are threatened with imprisonment and subjected to grillings by police (who should be devoting their energies towards real criminal activities) but such is the state of the world at present and people would be far more effective if they reined in their reliance on this type of ‘social’ outlet which only encourages such conduct. There is no such concept as privacy on the internet, in any form.

  2. “Racists” get heavier sentences than child abusers or drug traffickers; this acts as a barometer of how sick or healthy a society is. Sweden is very sick.
