The Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg museum in Berlin, whose local council is controlled by the Green party, plans to put on an exhibition glorifying African drug dealers. Kreuzberg is notorious in Berlin for its high immigrant population.
The notice for the exhibition “Andere Heimat” [Other Home] says: “Park drug sellers are not only hated as ‘dealers’ and victims of racist hostility, they are disadvantaged by being denied the genuine humanity of coming from a real place.” The goal of the exhibition is “to break open the implicit post-colonial abstraction of Africa and to describe it in a differentiated way in order to objectify the view of ‘drug dealers’.”
